Pay attention very closely to the above picture. The above is something you’ve never seen before on this blog – me wearing shorts. This may not seem like such a big deal, but to me it is. Like every woman, there are certain things about my body I’d like to change and things that I’m uncomfortable with. For the past few years I’ve rarely worn shorts at all. Don’t get me wrong, I love shorts, especially distressed denim cut offs, but for whatever reason, lately I’ve feel quite self conscious wearing them.
Seriously….what is it with the insane popularity of “view from the top” #ootd (“outfit of the day”, something I’m sure the majority of you of course already know) Instagram shots? I see them in my feed daily. While I may have at first been skeptical to even attempt a shot like that myself, it seriously grew on me and I know find myself do said shots almost daily!

Camo people. I’m wearing camo. When this trend first emerged last fall, I didn’t quite know what to think. Honestly, for me, wearing camo was only something hunters or army personnel wore. Wearing camo in everyday life?! But, I continued to see it more and more, and once I saw the many different ways it could be styled, it grew on me. So, like certain other trends, when I finally decided to “jump on board” (hey, better late than never, right?) and saw this cute embellished and sparkly camo top at Forever21, I went for it!
I decided if I’m going to wear camo, I’m going to wear it right and wear it my way – styled with a great pair of boyfriend jeans cute peep toe pumps, a funky bag and bracelets, a little rose gold and a bright red lip. So, here ya go folks…definitely not your average camo. Dare I say…..”Glam-0“??? Ok, maybe not, but hey, it’s definitely “glammed up” camo! 😉
I must know – what do you think of this trend? Would you rock it?
Ok, ok…I know what you’re thinking. Peplum top…blog post title “Peppy”?? How original Stephanie. Well my lovelies, so sorry – t just fit! 😉 The post title of my last outfit post was “Breezy”. In all actuality, I really should have called this one “Sweaty” – it was (and still is) hoooot!

Decided to change things up a bit with this outfit post! Presenting me in “live action“! Haha! Just yet another example of me going to my “happy place” fashion-wise in some more great bright color. Coral is a very coveted color so far this spring season in both fashion and makeup. Fine with me! Coral is a color I’ve always loved and will definitely continue to love throughout this spring and coming summer season!
outfit details: sweater – kohl’s (old), top – forever 21 (LOVING this one), jeans – old navy, heels – nine west, bracelets – forever 21, macy’s, ring – forever 21 (similar), clutch – kohl’s (old – last seen here), necklace – macy’s (similar glamorous option HERE)
Black and white paired together has always been a very classic, modern and clean look. With it being one of springs biggest trends, specifically bold black and white stripes, I am all about finding interesting and different ways to style it! With the two colors naturally being such easy and neutral colors palettes to work with, the opportunities are endless. I definitely will be adding in a little pop of bright color to this trend later in the season, but for now I just had fun wearing the two colors together with a simple pop of fun via my leopard print heels, a fun zebra print clutch and a bright lip color.
Outfit Details: beanie – old navy (this one is waaay cute), top – express (old) , skinny jeans – old navy, stilettos – charlotte russe, necklace – forever 21 (SIMILAR) (last seen here) , clutch – dolce vita, ring – dillards, nail polish – essie “butler please”, lipstick – Maybelline “Vivids” in fushia flash
Sometimes you just really need to go for it….just punch it up. What am I am talking about? Well, I guess you can look at what I just said and think I mean many different things. In this case, I’m referring to the great punches of bright color via my new favorite hot pink beanie, great aqua necklace, NEON pink lipstick and vivid blue nail polish. In most cases all of these different colors together would be quite the crazy disaster, however, here I luckily used a bit of common sense (hehe!) and grounded them with black.
With spring being right around the corner, I know I’m not the only one loving some color right now. Wearing bright color just instantly makes me happy. This being so, expect to see much more of it popping up on the blog as spring comes.
Have you been rocking a bit of bright color lately? What’s your favorite way to wear it?
Outfit Details: beanie – old navy (OBSESSED with this one), sweater – old navy, skinny jeans – old navy (lusting over these), heels – nine west, aviator sunnies – asos (similar), necklace – kohl’s, rings – the limited & old navy
Two things: I’m wearing almost entirely Old Navy here (they should hire me as one of their models) and this is my first time wearing a beanie – hopefully I don’t look ridiculous. I love the beanie trend and decided I finally wanted to give it a try myself. I found a lot of inspiration here and here. I realize I am probably the last person ever to wear this trend this season, but regardless, I definitely think I’ll be continuing this trend and seeing how many different ways I can incorporate it into my current wardrobe.
Quite often I find myself dressing according to my mood. Sometimes I feel like going uber feminine and lady-like, sometimes I feel like going super casual or sometimes I feel edgy and rebellious. I know it’s weird, but hey, it’s me! This particular day I couldn’t really make up my mind or pinpoint exactly what I was “feeling”, so I went with a few different elements. Feminine touches with just a bit of edge. Pink and leopard print, a beanie and “over the top” mega sparkle rhinestone necklace and skinny jeans and a girly heart sweater. Opposites attract, right?
Have you tried the beanie trend? How do you like to incorporate opposite elements into one outfit?
Outfit Details: coat – target (similar), cardigan – macy’s (similar), boyfriend jeans: asos , booties – payless, gloves: target, sunglasses – steve madden, neckalce – kohl’s (also LOVE this beauty)
I decided to go “all out” with this outfit – jewel tones, sequins, houndstooth, “Michael Jackson” fingerless zebra print gloves, ripped jeans, purple sunglasses and booties. Not too much, right? What can I say; I like experimenting. I recently have been doing a lot of “experimenting” fashion-wise lately. More to the point, I’ve been trying to mix and match different pieces and create different combinations in my current wardrobe I otherwise never would have of.
I’m trying to do what I can to cut back on shopping, as I’ve been doing a bit too much of that lately. Funny how many different outfits you can come up with using what you already have! Hey, maybe this living on a budget and more within my means thing won’t be so bad, right?!
Have you “shopped” your closet lately? What different and unexpected combos have you come up with?
