Gonna keep it short and sweet today. I had mixed emotions when it came to this outfit. I couldn’t decide between polka dots or leopard print being the main focal point. So, I decided to go with both. I have to say – I’m quite happy with the results.
You know this wouldn’t be complete without a little video accompaniment, right? 😉
What do you think? Would you mix polka dots and leopard print?

Rockstars and sequins. Those two words pretty much sum up this outfit. The sequin part of the aforementioned statement of course is obvious (we’ll get to that later), but the rock star part might leave you wondering. Well my lovelies, let me introduce my fabulous Old Navy Rock Star jeans! When I saw they are fabulous, I mean it people! They fit like a glove, are uber comfortable and the boot cut cut on them is perfect for fall!
Now let’s talk about the sequin part of this “outfit equation.” I have say – I think I have been pretty successful so far in making it abundantly clear here on the blog my affinity for all that is sparkly, shiny, and especially sequined. This being said, when I saw this top at my local Old Navy, the “bug lamp” that is my obsession with all sparkly and shiny things “buzzed” quite loudly, resulting in my purchase. Now, with sequins you can always go the fancy and more formal route (which I LOVE), but you can also dress them down and go for a more “casual chic” look. “Casual Chic” definitely was the name of the game here, and I love how it all came together.
How do you like to style sequins? Is the traditional fancy your way to go or is “casual chic” more your cup of tea?

Opposites attract. This is true both in romance my friends and in fashion! Lately we’ve been seeing all kinds of unlikely “mixing and matching” going on. Unusual pairings that you would never normally think would work together but they do! Print mixing has been a popular favorite recently. However what I’ve loved is truly unlikely pairings being put together and working fabulously.
Above is one of my favorite trends – camo. Being a girl who is attracted to anything sparkly or with sequins like a bug is to a bug lamp, of course I decided to mix in a bit of sparkle with my camo! My advice in making something like this work is to ground the two extremes with a neutral-colored piece, like a pair of pumps of a great bag or clutch and keep your accessories in the same color family as one of the pieces you are wearing. Here I stuck with the pink of the top.
When it comes to thinking of how to mix camo with some other pieces in your wardrobe, just think about this – camo, or the different colors of light and dark green, actually could be considered a neutral. As we all know, neutrals are so easy to pair great color with!
So, what you do think? Would you dare to mix such extreme opposites together?
