I’m a bit “in between” in this post. What do I mean? Well, friends, I’m a bit in between manicures. The first thing that I see when I look at these pictures are my naked nails! I know, I know, kind of trivial thing to be worried about, but I just can’t help it. Unlike here and here, my nails are totally bare here! If you’re a gal who changes her polish several times a week religiously, “naked nails” aren’t a very cute look in her mind.
Glamo. Yep, I think that’s the word I’ll make up to describe this look. That and risky business. Mixing tweed with camo?! What? What was I thinking?! Well, I was thinking that I want to really test this print mixing thing. It could have turned out disastrous, but I think it didn’t turn out too bad.
Boom! Booooooom! Bam! OK, let me stop while I’m ahead here or I’m going to start sounding like Bam Bam! Yes friends, it’s the 3.1 Phillip Lim x Target Boom! sweatshirt. I know it’s still maybe a bit too warm out to comfortably wear said sweatshirt (despite Sunday being the first day of fall), but just couldn’t help myself. I LOVE this sweatshirt! It’s just so funky, “in your face” and fun.
outfit details: top – target (similar), jeans – old navy, shoes – charlotte russe, clutch – dolce vita, watch – target (old), bracelets – Ida Red (local Tulsa boutique) / Threadsense , ring – forever 21 *super cute option here), lips – Nyxx in “beige”
Animal print, zebra print more exactly, will never go out of style in my opinion. As much as I LOVE leopard print, zebra print was my first love. In the height of the black and white trend going on right now, I thought this was a fun little twist on the trend.
Which do you like better – leopard print or zebra print?
Rose Gold. It’s a thing of beauty. Event the two words together, rose and gold, are beautiful all on their own, but because of that fact is what make them such a beautiful combination. Wearing a great statement accessory, a beautiful nail polish in the shade or a chic pair of shoes, just adds such class and elegance to even the blandest of outfits. I myself can’t get enough of it and plan on stocking up with several new pieces very soon (I’m absolutely DYING over that Michael Kors watch!). I’m not alone though. Rose gold has been making a statement in the world of fashion lately and it seems like it’s not going anywhere anytime soon. I think I’m fine with that! 🙂
Fall is in full swing now and the beginning of the holiday season almost upon us! Can you believe that we just got through Halloween already that Thanksgiving and then Christmas and next?! It is truly crazy! For your viewing pleasure above is a video I did for the “I Heart Fall Tag” that has been circulating around You Tube lately. I probably am the last person on You Tube to do this tag, but nonetheless, I went ahead with it anyway!
The doctor is in! Doctor bags all of a sudden have popped up and have been trending big time! I never ever would have thought that such a concept could be made into such a chic and stylish bag! I mean come on…..a doctor bag? Who knew!
With such simple and sleek design, these bags can easily be paired with many different pieces in your wardrobe, for effortless and trendy look. From the very luxurious to affordable chic pieces, there is something for everyone and every price range.
What do you think of this trend? Would you rock it
Outfit Details: top – express (old) (loving this and this too), skinny jeans – asos curve (similar), heels – Nine West , bag – express , bracelets – forever21
Fun. Fashion should always be fun, don’t you think? This very reason is why I am so in love with all of the quirky and fun prints and graphic tees, sweaters and sweatshirts that have been popping up like crazy so far this season (more on that HERE)! Think about this for a moment. If you walk out the door wearing a t-shirt that says “Holy Chic” or a slouchy sweater with a huge cat face in glasses on it, how can you have a bad day? 😉
Furthermore, I love how these fun casual pieces are being paired with more formal pieces like pencil skirts, blazers and slacks. However, sometimes on a Sunday you just want to go the causal route, like you see I did above. When I laid my eyes on this tee in the store and saw that it said “Glam Up” in sequins no less, I knew it was meant for me! I mean come on, my blog is named Glam Slam! Duh! Of course I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t jazz things up a bit, so I added my favorite (yes, my favorite, as you can see here and here) pair of leopard print heels. Fun fashion!
How do you like to jazz up a casual outfit?
UNTIL NEXT TIME!!!

In case you haven’t noticed, riding boots have made an appearance in a big way so far this season. No, they are not only for equestrians! I’ll admit, when this trend first started becoming popular, I wasn’t on board. Naturally, I at first thought I’d look like I truly was about to go riding and would get weird glances from people in public. However, after seeing the great and varied options there are and getting some great style inspiration here and here , I’m on board! I look forward to finding different ways to style
I found a few great options that I’ve shown you above. Some are more investment pieces, but there are some great options from retailers like Target too! I know that investing almost $200 or more seems a little ridiculous; I myself would even have to save up for a pair. However, boots like these can be worn for many many more seasons to come and can easily pair seamlessly when many different pieces in your wardrobe. They can be worn over a pair of skinny jeans for a more casual look, or , even could be paired with a pencil skirt for a more formal look!
What do you think of this trend? Will you go “riding” this season?
What is it about houndstooth that makes it such a great print? Is it the fact that it’s lady-like vibe reminds you of a vintage Chanel blazer that the Queen herself might wear to afternoon tea? Is it the fact that it adds just the right amount of punch to make even the simplest of outfits make a statement? I myself am not even quite sure, but, all I know is that I love it!
Houndstooth has always been one of my absolute favorite prints. I love the fact that just like leopard print or any other funky print it jazzes up even some of your simplest pieces. I’ve had this coat for several years now and love it so much that I swear I’ll probably wear it until it’s threadbare! Of course now I naturally have to go out in search of some other great pieces bearing this fabulous print to add to my collection! 😉
What do you think of houndstooth? Would you rock this print?
