Fabulous Fridays: The Best of #NYFW

It’s baaaack! It’s been almost a month (my apologies), but Fabulous Fridays is back! It’s only fitting that we switch gears a bit this week and dedicate this week’s Fabulous Fridays post to New York Fashion Week ! It officially ended on Feb. 14th, but it is still very much on my mind! As always there were memorable moments – awesome street style, amazing backstage scenes and beauty, out of this word amazing collections, parties,  visit from Nemo blizzard and more.

Fabulous Fridays: Sequined Blazers

Fabulous Fridays: Sequin Blazers

From top (L to R):  ASOS , Macy’s , Michael Kors , Dorothy Perkins , Diane Von Furstenburg (more affordable and similar version HERE)

Keeping it short and sweet this week. Two words:  sequined blazers. Check into it! Such an incredibly versatile piece, as it can so easily be dressed up and dressed down. It looks amazing with jeans and heels and can just as easily pair with a sleek pencil skirt or pair of slacks for the office or  more formal look. It’s such a great statement piece….I’m OBSESSED.
What do you think of sequined blazers?

Fabulous Fridays: Beanies!

Fabulous Fridays: Beanies!

From top (L to R):  emma cable pom pom beanie , rosie sugden pom pom beanie ,  armani exchange white sequin beanie ,  river island beige leopard print pom pom beanie , dorothy perkins navy cable slubby beanie ,  asos faux fur pom pom boyfriend beanie

Beanies, beanies, beanies! They have been popping up everywhere latley and seem to be the “it” hat to have this winter. In all honesty, when I first saw them start popping up, I was not impressed. Laughingly, my first thought was “why would I want to look like a homeless person?!” I know…it was a bit harsh. However, just like a few other recent trends (i.e. plaid), I am starting to warm up to it.

Fabulous Fridays: Holiday Glamour

This week’s Fabulous Fridays post is inspired by and  all about glitz and glamour. When the holiday season comes every year, I can’t help but think of anything but sequins and sparkle; it’s just part of the holidays in my opinion! I am an avid believer and fan of sequins, shine and glamour ANYTIME of the year, but I especially love it during the holidays!

So my friends, make sure to sparkle and shine this holiday season!

Do you love sequins and shine as much as I do during the holidays? What inspires you?

Fabulous Fridays: Plaid-tastic!

Fabulous Fridays: Plaid - tastic!
(from top L to R):  trench coat – Target , academy blazer – gap (sold out 🙁  ), black fleece plaid wool jacket – the outnet , “pacific plaid” shirt – j.crew

Plaid. Is it just me or do you remember the days when it seemed that only lumberjacks, Scotsman or grunge rockers wore it? It of course was perfectly acceptable for Gavin Rossdale or any other front man from a popular rock band in the 90’s to wear it – it was cool; part of their “persona” and style. But as a chic fashion accessory and print?  I ‘m going to be perfectly honest, until recently this season, I was NOT a fan of plaid. I just couldn’t see myself wearing it and did not see it as an attractive print. I mean of course, I thought it looked beautiful as a table runner on my mother’s Christmas table spread, but on me? Really?

I don’t know what is or exactly why, but I am seriously warming up to plaid. If styled creatively, plaid can be FABULOUS! After finding inspiration HEREHERE and HERE , I am now an official “plaid convert.”  I’ m currently on the hunt for a great plaid jacket (I wanted the Gap “Academy” jacket soooo bad, but it is currently sold out online and I can’t find it ANYWHERE at any of the local Gap stores in my city), so if you know of any great places to shop, let me know!

Do you like plaid? How would you style it?
