Lady Gaga’s “human horse”, Rihanna’s “hair ‘do”, Miley’s giant singing space cat, we again learned that it’s important “Don’t Go Chasing Waterfalls”……
It was the American Music Awards. Like every year there are memorable moments, but you know you only watch these award show things for the fashion, right? Right. Well friends, I watched, I saw and I have my favorites.
Kelly Rowland in Rami Al Ali Couture //Jennifer Lopez in Zuhair Murad//Selena Gomez in Atelier Versace
(I planned on posting this on Monday, but due to the horrible tragedy and devastation left in the wake of the tornado in Moore, OK, it didn’t seem appropriate or the right time to take any attention away from this tragic time.)
It was a “blue carpet” as apposed to the regular “red carpet” at this year’s Billboard Music Awards. As with any awards show, one of my favorite parts of course is the fashion! The above are my top three best dressed favorites! Kelly Rowland and J-Lo shimmered and brought some mega-watt glam, while Selena Gomez was chic in a modern all white dress with a sexy slit and just a touch of neon color.
Among the great moments the BBMA blue carpet brought, there were certain moments that were…um…not so great. Like this from Jennifer Morrison, THIS from Kesha (not that I’m surprised), and….um…THIS from Maddona??!! Hey, we’ve got to deal with the crazy and the bad to get to the good, right? 😉
Jennifer Lawrence – Dior haute couture // Jessica Chastain – Armani Prive
Catherine Zeta-Jones – Zuhir Murad // Halle Berry – custom Versace
Amy Adams – Oscar de la Renta // Reese Witherspoon – Louis Vuitton

Awards season is always one of my favorite times of year. Getting to see all the amazingly beautiful and glamorous fashion; it’s a dream. Every year always brings amazing moments, huge risk and memorable moments. At this year’s Oscars we say a lot of blush tones, sparkle and blues. We saw stars bring back “Old Hollywood” glamour with loose curls and dramatic make-up like Jessica Chastain and Reese Witherspoon, as well as natural and “barely there” make-up and simple hair like Amy Adams.
It all comes and goes so quickly, doesn’t it?
So, who was your favorite this year?

It’s my favorite time of year (well one of my favorite times of year – at least fashion-wise) – awards season! What is it about award show red carpets that makes me so silly and giddy? I LOVE seeing what the stars will be wearing. Sometimes I feel like a member of E’s “Fashion Police” or something! Well, I might not be as “critical” as Joan Rivers, but I definitely have quite an opinion sometimes when it comes to red carpet fashion.
The trends I saw from this year’s Golden Globes red carpet were a lot of red, nudes and whites. I was expecting much more bright color and was surprised we didn’t see more. Despite this though, there were a few looks that stood out to me, and that I really loved, which I have presented to you above. My best dressed this year BY FAR was Jessica Alba. She was STUNNING in her dusty peach Oscar de la Renta gown! I usually don’t like “mermaid” style dresses, but I really liked this one! I also loved the long train of the dress, her “Old Hollywood” style hair and of course the bling!
Two of my “best dressed” choices, Ann Hathaway and Lucy Liu, I can tell you not everyone will agree with. A lot of people were saying that Ann’s dress was too plain and simple and that she needed more color. I couldn’t disagree with this more! I loved the simplicity of her dress and it’s sparkle. Now, on to Lucy Liu. Lucy definitely made a statement and took a risk in her huge “princess-like” floral Carolina Herrera dress. This, however, is why I love it so much. Fashion sometimes is all about taking a risk and trying something different. I loved the florals and color! The idea of florals in the heart of winter I think is a lovely idea!
So, who were your “best dressed”?

Kerry Washington – The Scandal star was a dream in this beautiful, elegant and glamorous sequined Vivienne Westwood dream. Though simple, it was a statement making dress in my opinion. The color was gorgeous with her skin tone and brought a bit of Old Hollywood glamour.
Emily Vancamp– quite possibility one of my favorite looks of the night. Keeping with the Old Hollywood glamour them, miss Revenge knocked it out of the park in this J. Mendel dress! Oh, and by the way, I am SOOOOO excited for the season premiere of Revenge on Sunday! 😉
Julie Bowen – neon was a big trend on the Emmy red carpet this season. When I say neon, I mean NEON! Bright and bold chartreuse was prevalent. Keep in mind that this is definitely a color that not just anyone can pull off; it can be a major disaster if not styled right or without a smart makeup color to accompany it. Julie’s makeup artist and stylist deserve their own Emmy awards for this look!
This figure-hugging Monique Lhuillier dress was paired with a great smoky eye accompanied with a nude lip and simple gold accessories. <3 it!

Julianne Moore – I’ll be honest with you here. At first I really didn’t like Julianne’s dress. At first glance it seemed way too plain and the long sleeves? However, when I got a better look at this bright canary yellow Christian Dior dress, I saw how truley exquisite it was. Sometimes the most elegant and memorable looks are those that are simple; “quiet glamour‘ I like to call it.
Who was your Glam Slam! of the night?

Well, unless you live under a rock, then you know that the Met Costume Gala was earlier this week! I absolutely LOVE and LIVE for this time of year! It’s like the “Fashion Olympics”; even more so than the Emmys and the Oscars in my opinion. This event, more than any other, is the time for drama and theatrics in fashion. It’s sooooo fabulous! So, what better topic for this week’s Fabulous Fridays post?!
