Changing things up a bit today from our regularly scheduled Wednesday Wisdom posts. The past few days here in Tulsa have been snow filled! I think we ended up getting almost 5 inches of snow! A true winter wonderland outside. This winter wonderland of course brought an unexpected snow day off from work on Friday, which = score!
Definitely something that I will take with me into these next few weeks. When things get a bit stressful in life sometimes it’s increasingly difficult to be inspired or even stay inspired. You at times feel like you have so much on your mind that there is is little room left for things like inspiration. Now don’t get me wrong, nothing bad is happening to me right now, things are just getting a bit busier at work for me. Lately when I get home I feel mentally exhausted at times and then when it comes to thinking about blogging or making a You Tube video, the inspiration hasn’t really come as easily lately as it has in the past.
So, when I saw this quote on Pinterest the other day it really made me “take a step back” and stop and think. I’ve been so worried about trying to figure out how to find my creative inspiration again, that I neglected to think that everyday things in my busy life could be full of inspiration and I hadn’t even realized it. It really is true that you can find inspiration in the unlikeliest of things and places.
So, if your busy life has been making it hard to find your inspiration, do as Grace says, “Always keep watching. Keep your eyes open. Because whatever you see can inspire you. ”
Hello lovelies! Hope you’ve had a lovely week! Wishing you a Happy Cinco de Mayo! Whether you’re going to be out and about livin’ it up this weekend or just keeping it low key, I wish you a fabulous time! I myself don’t have any crazy fabulous plans to ring in this year’s Cinco de Mayo…guess I’ll have to “live vicariously” through the tweets and instagrams of others! 😉 I still might sneak in a margarita or two before the weekend is up though!
Hello lovelies – I’m still alive! I’ve been unexpectedly taking a few “blog vacations” lately. Let me just say – things have been a bit rough lately for me. However, when the going gets tough I find that a little fun and laughter usually do the trick (laughter is the best medicine). So, when I saw a popular tag on You Tube going around “##Things You May Not Know About Me”, and after seeing Kristina’s video, I thought this would be just thing to get my spirits up! Hey, if you can’t laugh at yourself you’re taking life too seriously, right? Right.
Just a little something I’ve been trying to tell myself more and more lately. Confession time – when I get really stressed out sometimes I start to get really flustered or as some would say, “wig out” a bit, which in turn completely ruins my mood and puts me in a bad mood. I keep asking myself – “Why do you do this to yourself? Let it go girl – it’ll be OK!”
For as long as I can remember, I’ve always been really hard on myself. If I didn’t accomplish perfectly what I set out to do or couldn’t figure something out quickly, I started beating myself up about it and started feeling really down on myself. I’d start to compare myself to others and try to figure out why I couldn’t do something as well or wasn’t as good as everyone else seemed to be. It’s a continual daily struggle, but slowly but surely I’m starting to make progress on overcoming this particular personal flaw.
Have you ever come across a situation like this before? How do you overcome it?
I’m going to be honest, it’s been a while since I actually went out and truly celebrated St. Patrick’s Day. This is something I changed this year (if you follow me on Instagram, you already know this 😉 ). Friends – I had a lot of fun!
Hello, hello! I’m still here! Sorry for the lack of posting the past few days. Things have been a bit busy, but for good reasons. Things have finally started to look up since I last posted this. I just got a promotion of sorts at work and am now a Social Media Manager. This is definitely going to keep me busy, busy, busy, but is a great new challenge. What I have found lately is that no matter how tough things get in life, always try and find a way to stay positive. I’m not gonna lie – it is VERY hard to do sometimes, but when you do, good things usually happen.
I’m not completely “out of the woods” yet so to speak, and still have a few things to figure out, but the “light at the end of the tunnel” is getting brighter and brighter every day. Onward now with my continuing journey! 😉
