Pieces from new Missoni for Target collection that I absolutley must have!

Have you been shopping yet today? If not, you soooo need to hop on over to your local Target because that highly anticipated collection from I talian fashion powerhouse of Missoni is here!!!! This collection was so highly anticipated that after the grand-opening of the line in NYC, everything at that location was sold out in a matter of hours! So……we’ve got to hustle! Another interesting and amazing note is that online shopping was so popular on Target this morning that their website crashed! So many fashionistas out there trying to get their hands on these coveted items!

Everything that Missoni makes is incredibly beautiful, artfully crafted and amazing, but, I have listed below the pieces that I am most excited about and believe are a must have for any fashionista’s closet.

NYC Fashion and Glam comes to Tulsa w/ the 1st annual @FNOTulsa !!!!

Today started like any other day for me. When I woke up,  and like usual, one of the first things that I do is check my Twitter and Facebook pages for the latest news and updates. I recently started following @NoseyParkerTulsa on Twitter.  So, when I pulled up my Twitter page and read her most recent update, I almost fell out of my desk chair with excitement!

Finally, the event started by Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintor in New York City in ’09,  a collaboration between Vogue, CFDA, NYC&CO and the City of New York, that I have dreamed of going to for years is coming to Tulsa! I couldn’t believe it!  I immediately looked up the event online and found them on Twitter, @FNOTulsa , and “Liked” their Facebook page.

The event will be held on Thursday Sept. 8th in participation with numerous other cities around the country and around the world.

Local retailers in two of Tulsa’s biggest and most popular shopping districts, Brookside and Utica Square, will be playing host for our city’s fabulous event with nine trunk shows, showcasing fall fashions and all participating retailers will be staying open late to provide a fabulous and amazing shopping extravaganza! The event, like the one in NYC, will benefit local charities.

So, you may be thinking, “Well this sounds amazing, but this isn’t NYC with taxi cabs on every corner and a subway; how am I supposed to get around?!” Well, a trolley has been made possible by one of the event’s gracious sponsors, Jackie Cooper Imports and will run from 6-10 PM.

I am offically elated and can’t wait for this event! I will be there taking tons of pics, tweeting live and checking in on Foursquare. I wonder if Anna Wintor herself will be making an apperance with some supermodels?

So, my fellow Tulsa fashionistas, there is no excuse why you should not be at this event for a night full of fun, fashion and general fabulousness! I’ll see you there!

Fall 2011 Makeup Trends

I am loving some of the upcoming fall fashion we have coming our way soon, but I’m also loving even more some of the Fall 2011 makeup trends! Thank you to In Style magazine (my favorite fashion mag!) for summing up many of them up for me (I swear I think that this magazine is my “bible”! LOL!).

These fall beauty trends are attention grabbers and make a major statement; they are the perfect compliment to the coming fall fashion trends. I have personally found that each of these looks is best and most easily achieved with some of Maybelline New York products.  I’ve listed below some of my favorite make-up trends for fall the the Maybelline New York product I think best achieves each look. Third Thursday Poetry Night -#Thumbsup4Homeless and #SMTulsa Meetup at Ida Red 08-18

This past Thrusday I had the pleasure of attending the “#Thumbsup4Homeless” #SMTulsa event, which was part of the  Third Thursdays monthly poetry reading event; a monthly event occuring the third Thursday of each month at various venues around Tulsa; this week’s event was held at the Ida Red Boutique in Brookside.  This particular Third Thursday event was special as event organizers partnered with popular Tulsa social media meetup group Social Media Tulsa (#SMTulsa) and the Thumbs up for the Homeless group.  Attendees brought USB thumb drives for Tulsa’s homeless.  Friend of #SMTulsa founder Cheryl Lawson says, “When you are living on the streets it’s nearly impossible to carry files and paperwork. Many people experiencing homelessness keep their resumes and important documents on USB thumb drives.  Something as simple as a flash drive can be a huge help.”

Event goers were graced with a reading of several inspirational poems by poet  Regina Ann,  from her new book  ” Poetic Essences “.  Popular local poet Randall J. Weiss performed a reading of several of  his fun, entertaining and quarky poems.
