So, this past Memorial Day weekend, May 26th to be exact, I celebrated my 33rd year on this earth. My past few birthdays I haven’t really celebrated all that much. This is strange for me, as I’m “one of those people” who loves celebrating birthdays and going all out. I’ve been through a lot in my life these past few years, but thankfully, this year I have a lot to be thankful for and I decided to celebrate!
There isn’t the same “stigma” attached to your 33rd birthday as there is say – your 21st…..your 30th…..your 40th? Why do we put so much emphasis on our age? I mean, age is just a number, right?
So, on our birthdays, isn’t it time to…..
Aside from doing some “reflecting” on my life so far and thinking about what the future has to offer, I did a little day dreaming too. If money was no object, what type of birthday celebration would I have……..
I mentioned above that I hadn’t done a lot of celebrating birthday-wise these past few years. Well, having decided that age IS just a number, I decided why shouldn’t I celebrate what I’ve accomplished so far in life and the fact that despite past hard times, I’m coming out on top. I got a small group of friends together and kept things somewhat simple – champagne, chocolate cake and shopping. Sounds fancier than it was, but I really had a great time!
So, cheers was the word friends…..
These pictures were both taken at Hodges Bend, one of my favorite places here in Tulsa. If you’re in the area, I highly suggest you check this place out!
Good friends. Good food. Good drinks. Great times. That sums up my birthday celebration experience this year and I couldn’t be more thankful and couldn’t have asked for more. Who knows what next year will bring!
