Season of the Ox
Outfit Details – top – ASOS, pants – Lane Bryant, heels – Nine West, clutch – Express, bracelets – Forever 21 & Kohl’s (similar), ring – The Limited (similar)
You’ve heard of The Year of the Ox in Chinese mythology, right? Well, my dears, it is now “The Season of the Ox”! OxBlood all of a sudden has become THE color of the season. Call it burgundy, maroon, brownish-redish, whatever you will, but it is hot! So, when I found out that the current Bloggers Do It Better challenge was “OxBlood”, I was stoked!
Honestly, when I think of the changing of the seasons, leaves changing colors, grabbing that pumpkin spiece latte from Starbucks and what epitomizes fall to me, this color definitely fits the bill. It’s rich, dramatic, fun and easy to wear and can instantly add a touch of elegance to an outfit, while at the same time being a bit edgy; depending on how you choose to style it.
Here I paired my ASOS oxblood top with a pair of grey slacks, my favorite pair of leopard print heels for a touch funk and edge and went with jeweled and gold accessories. However, this could have just as easily been pair with a pair of boyfriend jeans and heels for a more casual look. I am definitley going to have fun styling this great hue in different ways and adding more pieces to my fall wardrobe!
I couldn’t think of anything more perfect for my first fall outfit post of the year on the blog!
UNTIL NEXT TIME!!!

I love how maroon (I refuse to call it oxblood) looks with leopard – they were meant to be!

I love everything about this look! You look fabulous! All that’s missing is that Starbucks you mentioned, haha!
You’re soooo right! The one accessory I’m missing; Starbucks!
I really truly believe that “oxblood” and animal print were meant to go together. Love it! And especially love the detail on the blouse.
I completely agree! A match made in heaven!
