Summer Statement

Fashion to me is all about taking risks and making a statement; expressing yourself. Well, this day I decided to definitely make a statement of my own with this ensemble in a few different ways.  Technically summer isn’t officially here yet (at least chronologically), but I don’t care! I’m still making a “summer statement” here!

Outfit Details:  Top – The Limited (similar), Necklace – The Limited, Pants – Lane Bryant, Silver Studded Cuff – Bauble Bar, Pyramid Bracelet (similar) & Gold Bangle – Forever 21, Ring – The Limited,  Shoes – Mossimo, Bag – Express

Statement #1:  This amazing gold leaf necklace.  Statement jewelry definitely is a trend this season and one that I’m loving! When I saw this necklace at a recent trip to The Limited, it just had to be mine. Surprisingly, I actually usually don’t tend to go for gold jewelry; I’m more of a silver jewelry type of girl. Recently however,  I’ve been leaning more toward the other side of the “jewelry spectrum” and this necklace is definitely a major step!

Statement #2:  This side ponytail. This particular hairstyle is one I haven’t werked since the early 90’s (I think it actually was in an elementary school yearbook picture). I also haven’t recently seen any of my friends werking it either, so I definitely (at least in my opinion) took a risk when I walked out the door this morning sporting this side do! One I think would either say it is totally awesome or a total tragic mistake, but oh well! I had fun with it today! 🙂

Both of the above mentioned “statements”  were combined with the awesomely bright and fabulousness that is this tangerine colored blouse and there ya go!  I definitely plan on rocking many more similar looks this summer!  You just can’t go wrong with bright color and fabulous accessories!

So, what fashion “statements” will you be making this summer?
