#NYFW- Some of my favorite designer shows so far……..
Boy do I wish I could actually be at New York Fashion Week live right now!!! The shows and Spring 2012 collections have been so amazing so far! Bright colors (Hmmm…..just like we are seeing for fall right now), great patterns, florals and beautiful sheer fabric, luxurious and elegant furs, tribal inspired prints and the ever-so-popular color blocking.
Since I could not be there to experience all of this fabulousness live, I found a way around that via You Tube! I found some amazing You Tube channels to watch the shows live; fashiontv and LiveRunway. So, thanks to these fabulous (and god send) You Tube channels, I have been able to experience some of my favorite designer’s shows.
ALEXANDER WANG: chic and funky street wear, many “biker” inspired, with lots of black and white color.
DIANE VON FURSTENBERG: gorgeous and “effortless” (as DVF herself put it while being interviewed. Lots of bright colors w/ great patterns, layering. The collection was named “Beginnings”.
BETSEY JOHNSON: what can I say about Betsey Johnson? I just LOVE her! I felt this collection was very “funky/Hollywood glam” at times. Lots of beautiful floral fabric, statement jewerly, graphic patterns and of course her trademark infusion of pink within the collection.
BCBG MAX AZRIA: absolutely gorgeous flowing dress in bright colors, great patterns, some even tribal influenced, color blocking and in my own words to sum up this collection, ” Effortlessly beautiful!”
DEREK LAM: this by far had to be one of the most anticipated shows of NYFW this year. This collection was very modern, easy, sassy American sports wear. As Marie Claire Fashion Director and Project Runway judge Nina Garcia put it, when describing the kind of woman Derek Lam makes his collections for, “…above all a modern woman”.
UNTIL NEXT TIME!!!!!!
P.S.- now I’m gonna go hit my local Target to do some shopping since Missoni for Target collection is here!!!!!
